Term 1
Powerlines (and playgrounds)
Yes, I did consider the rule of thirds in my compositions. In the first picture, I tried to line up the vertical pole with the left-hand third. In the second photo, I tried to accomplish the same thing. In the fourth photo, I tried to line up the vertical pole on the left-hand third and the thick powerline on the bottom third. In the fifth photo, I tried to line up the tallest pylon with the left hand third. In the sixth photo, I tried to line up both pylons with the left and right-hand thirds.
The third photo, I believe, is a dynamic composition. The horizontal powerlines lead your eyes from the left of the photo to the right-hand side
I think that the first photo illustrates the best play of organic and geometric shapes, with the intertwining of the powerlines and the trees, as well as the triangular street sign.
I feel that the first photo best satisfies the assignment since it has the most interesting combination of man-made geometry and organic shapes in the trees.

First Photo |
- Interesting use of reflections
- Use of lines (i.e. where the line of trees meet the sky)
- Deep depth of field
